EEDGX is a fast-growing Belgian space tech startup revolutionising the industry with intelligent, adaptive spacecraft. In the past year, we’ve expanded from 3 to 9 team members and won the imec.istart "Next Unicorn 2024" award. This year, we’re also preparing for our first rocket launch —a huge milestone!
Our vision is clear: satellites that react in real time and deliver ultra-fast global connectivity powered by onboard AI. Our Data Processing Unit (DPU) is paving the way for this future. With support from Imec.istart, ESA, and the European Commission, we’re making it happen.
We’re looking for passionate people to join our team and help bring our vision to life. Are you ready to make an impact in space tech? We want to hear from you!
We seek a Satellite Communications Engineer to advance satellite-based 5G systems with expertise in RF design and AI-driven synthetic data.
Core Values
Do the following values resonate with you?
Pioneering Expertise
We are relentlessly driven to establish ourselves as experts in an uncharted domain. Taking on a steep learning curve is not a challenge but an opportunity for growth. As a team, we strive to unlock the potential of neuromorphic computing in space, a learning path nobody has walked before. To achieve that goal, we need to constantly push the boundaries of our own knowledge.
Structured Focus
Our ambitious goal of transforming the space industry with neuromorphic computing requires a collective focus. While the impact of our efforts may be years away, we are united in our fixation to reach it as soon as possible. Whether it's about making long-term strategic decisions or creating structure where there is none, our shared focus guides us towards our vision.
Group Passion
At our core, we are a group of people sharing a passion: space exploration. But we don't stop there. We encourage each individual to explore further and share their passions with the group. Sharing personal interests fuels our growth and our ideas. It makes us more than just a company but a community of passionate individuals.
What you'll be doing
Create synthetic data: Develop realistic and high-quality synthetic satellite communication data for training artificial intelligence models.
Implement satellite gNodeB functionality: Design and deploy gNodeB functionality within a software-defined satellite processing system, covering distributed and central unit functional blocks.
Develop RF chain components: Engineer portions of the RF chain on FPGA platforms and integrate them seamlessly with data processing units.
Simulate and test 5G systems: Simulate, test and validate a complete 5G communication stack on satellite hardware, ensuring performance and reliability.
Cross-team collaboration: Work closely with other engineering teams, such as software and hardware engineers, to ensure your work integrates with other system components.
What you’ll be bringing
Must haves
- Master’s degree in electronics engineering or equivalent through experience.
- Experience with standard lab tools for FPGA validation.
- FPGA design expertise.
- Good communication skills, as you will be working closely with other team members.
